Pearl Jam 20 Screening at Michigan Theater...

A documentary directed by Academy Award-winner Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous, Jerry Maguire) on the band Pearl Jam that marks their 20th anniversary in the year 2011. Pearl Jam Twenty chronicles the years leading up to the band's formation, the chaos that ensued soon after their rise to megastardom, their step back from center stage, and the creation of a trusted circle that would surround them—giving way to a work culture that would sustain them. Told in big themes and bold colors with blistering sound, the film is carved from over 1,200 hours of rarely-seen and never-before seen footage spanning the band's career. Pearl Jam Twenty is the definitive portrait of Pearl Jam: part concert film, part intimate insider-hang, part testimonial to the power of music and uncompromising artists.

This documentary has a scheduled screening at The Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor on September 20th (7pm & 9:45pm). Click here for more details.

"Bird~watchers" Keep Eye on Michigan Theater...

Ok, Ok.....lotsa Andrew Bird news of late on this little blog. And one more note to add to the story. He will be in Ann Arbor on April 8th filling up the rafters of Michigan Theater with his sweet sounds. Consider his style, this may be the perfect venue for this show. If you have yet to catch a show in the Michigan Theater, you really need to treat yourself to the purity of this place. Plus, it only seems right that a "Bird" find a home in "Tree Town". Tickets go on sale on January 17th (Pre-Sale has already started at a Music Today site).
