Andrew Bird To Play Ann Arbor...

Andrew Bird
will perform on June 18th as part of the Ann Arbor Summer Festival Series

From Ann Arbor Summer Festival Site:
Few artists better exemplify the term chamber pop than violinist, whistler, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird. A classically trained violinist, former swing jazz musician and now art rock virtuoso, Bird is one of the most imaginative and distinctive voices making music today. Essentially a one-man band, Bird plays and layers live loops, stacking sounds and rhythms, and offering an eclectic mix of gypsy ballads, jazz, folk and rock. Opening set by indie singer-songwriter Haley Bonar.

Delicate Steve Sets Mickey Finn's Toledo Gig...

Delicate Steve will play Mickey Finn's Pub in Toledo, Ohio on Friday, April 15th.

"When you first hear Delicate Steve's (aka Steve Marion) a few things pop into your head: Stevie Wonder, Dirty Projectors, RATATAT, Ponytail, Neutral Milk Hotel. Then you keep listening and find that thoughts of these other influences have melted away, and questions have taken their place: What is this music? What is the time signature in this song? Is that really a guitar? It has a sense of adventure, originality, and joyousness that makes you want to know: Where did this music come from?"
