Bell X1 Rocket into Ann Arbor...

Bell X1 will embark on an acoustic tour in North America this fall. Fans in the midwest will be happy to know they are planning a stop at The Ark in Ann Arbor on October 11th.

Bell X1 are an Irish rock band from County Kildare in Ireland. Ireland's most renowned domestic band, they have thus far released four critically-acclaimed albums in Ireland, and are now used to playing large arenas, platinum-selling albums and obtaining number one singles in the country. The band is named after the Bell X-1, the first supersonic aircraft in history. Bell X1 began their existence as Juniper, a 1990s act who had success in Ireland and counted, as their frontman, Damien Rice prior to his international success as a solo artist.

Justin Townes Earle Preps New Album & Tour...

“He’s fully absorbed his genetic and cultural heritage and draws upon both with great skill and dimension…an utterly distinctive voice that takes what’s come before and artfully moves it forward with the power of a certain steel-driving man.”Los Angeles Times

Harlem River Blues, the new album from celebrated singer-songwriter Justin Townes Earle, will be released September 14 on Bloodshot Records. This is Earle’s third release and follows 2009’s critically acclaimed Midnight at the Movies, which Paste Magazine declared, “A nearly flawless, organic LP,” while Rolling Stone gave it a four star review. In support of the record, Earle will tour throughout 2010. He will be in Toledo performing at Frankie's on August 21st. Please see below for details.

A recent transfer to New York City, Earle returned to his home of Nashville, TN to record the album at House of David studio. Harlem River Blues was produced by Earle and Skylar Wilson and features guest appearances from Jason Isbell, Bryn Davies (Patty Griffin, Guy Clark), Calexico’s Paul Niehaus and Old Crow Medicine Show’s Ketch Secor.

Since his debut in 2008, Earle has toured consistently including performances at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Fest, the Grand Ole Opry and the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival as well as a recent appearance on “A Prairie Home Companion.” On August 1, Earle will join Levon Helm, The Avett Brothers, The Swell Season and many more at the 2010 Newport Folk Festival Additionally, Earle won “Best New and Emerging Artist” at the 2009 Americana Music Awards and was named by GQ magazine as one of “The 25 Most Stylish Men in the World” in 2010. Bobby Bare Jr. Doc Looking For You...

Bobby Bare Jr. Documentary Track 1: Meet Bobby Bare Jr. from HHCreative on Vimeo.

Here is your chance – Be a part of rock history. Click here to donate.

MEET BOBBY BARE JR.

Son of country music royalty, father of three, nominated for a Grammy at age 6, he’s terrified of elves, he was at the forefront of the indie rock movement in the country music capital of the world, and if you catch him in a city near you, he’ll rock your face off.
“…The only real curiosity about Bare’s career to date is that he hasn’t yet become a big name in modern rock—the kind of artist whose every album is awaited with the eager anticipation…" — Nashville Scene

Bare Jr. has toured with – Bob Dylan, Aerosmith, The Black Crowes, Andrew Bird, The Drive By Truckers, Dr. Dog, The Decembrists, The Walkmen, Centro-Matic, The Bottel Rockets and The Old 97’s.

In the artists words, his music is ‘southern and it rocks, but its not southern rock’.
With his unique sound, Bare Jr. redefines both expectations, and what it means to be an independent artist in the 21st century. His style is a study in contrasts, going from gentle acoustic melodies to a guitar shredding riff in seconds. As he taps a tambourine with his foot, strums his guitar and tells stories in song – you’re captivated.

With the recent release of Twistable, Turnable Man: A Musical Tribute to the Songs of Shel Silverstein, produced by Bobby Bare Jr. and his dad, along with Bobby’s own album, A Storm, A Tree, My Mothers Head and an upcoming nationwide tour, Bare Jr. has a feeling that NOW is HIS time.

Like Bare Jr.’s music, this film will be a constantly evolving piece of art. Traveling with exclusive access we will be there to witness and capture first hand, the events that unfold as this artist approaches a crossroads in his life and career.

This isn’t a glowing or pompous look at a musical diva, but rather a look at a rocker who will do whatever it takes – at the times where so many other musicians would step down or sell out, Bare Jr. steps up.

BUT WE CAN’T MAKE THIS FILM WITHOUT YOU.

To truly capture Bare’s eclectic music style, we will shoot on mixed formats including 16mm, 8mm, HD, and utilize GoPro cameras to capture a true “fly on the wall” experience. The GoPro cameras offer a new perspective with their size and ability to be mounted on the stage, in places no other camera can get creating a new look at what it feels like to perform live. This is a truly unique experience.

We will also incorporate unique stop motion animation emphasizing certain experiences on the road and help to bridge together our travels on tour.

WE NEED FILM – WE NEED MONEY – WE NEED YOU! YOU CAN BE A DRIVING FORCE IN BRINGING THIS FILM TO LIFE.

Come along for the ride as Bobby Bare Jr. rocks across the country and takes the music industry by storm.

We would also welcome donations of items from film stock, to equipment, to a van to drive across country. And, if you are interested in the project and you have skills you could contribute, we would love to hear from you.

Check back often for new videos!!

Thank you very much!

Sharon Jones Offers Free Rock Hall Show...

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will welcome Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings for a special FREE concert on the Museum’s Main Stage on Friday, August 13 at 8 p.m.

Although this concert is FREE, a ticket is necessary for entry.
There will be many ways for fans to win tickets to this special concert. Kia Motors promotion teams will be conducting ticket giveaway promotions at the Rock Hall during the Summer in the City concerts on July 14, July 21 and August 11. Tickets are also available online through Daptone Records at www.daptonerecords.com/rockhall and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s Facebook page and Twitter page. For complete information on how to obtain tickets, please visit www.rockhall.com/event/sharon-jones.

Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings have truly become renowned thanks to their incredible live show, not to mention their relentless touring. And though it’s certainly no easy task to keep such a vast ensemble on the road, the band continues to pack hundreds of clubs worldwide, from legendary venues like New York’s Apollo Theater, Beacon Theater and Central Park’s SummerStage to their show-stopping sets at Coachella, SXSW, Lollapalooza, Roskilde, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits and WOMAD.

Currently supporting their fourth album, I Learned the Hard Way, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings continue to electrify fans, disc jockeys, critics, record collectors, and bloggers the world-over with their authentic, heart-felt sound. The authenticity clearly demonstrated on the band’s three critically-acclaimed previous albums steeped within the gilded and gritty sounds of gospel, soul and funk – Dap Dippin’ (2002), Naturally (2005) and 100 Days, 100 Nights (2007) – captured and released by the independent Daptone Records. Their albums recall an analog era led by iconic studios like those at Motown and Stax Records, and have thrust the 53 year-old Augusta, GA native and crew into the multimedia limelight.

Dear Friends,

I'm am happy to announce the first-ever Sea Wolf solo acoustic tour! I will be packing up my suitcase and guitar and traveling to your town to serenade you with Sea Wolf songs (and a few extras) as you've never heard them before.

Joining me on the tour will be two of my favorite artists and friends, Sera Cahoone and Patrick Park.

Also, my label will be releasing a 7" vinyl-and-digital-only single for 'Turn the Dirt Over' (from White Water, White Bloom), which will be available during the tour. The 7" single will include a remix by Broken Social Scene's Brendan Canning, and the digital version (which you may purchase on it's own, or will come free with the 7") will also contain an unreleased Sea Wolf track called: 'Where the Wind Blows'.
