Andrew Bird will perform on June 18th as part of the Ann Arbor Summer Festival Series
From Ann Arbor Summer Festival Site: Few artists better exemplify the term chamber pop than violinist, whistler, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird. A classically trained violinist, former swing jazz musician and now art rock virtuoso, Bird is one of the most imaginative and distinctive voices making music today. Essentially a one-man band, Bird plays and layers live loops, stacking sounds and rhythms, and offering an eclectic mix of gypsy ballads, jazz, folk and rock. Opening set by indie singer-songwriter Haley Bonar.
St. Vincent will team up with Andrew Bird for a month of US tour dates this fall, starting September 29 in Indianapolis. The two critically acclaimed artists will also be paired for an episode of Austin City Limits, scheduled to air on PBS stations nationwide on October 24 (check local listings).
Before touring with Bird, St. Vincent will play the All Points West and Virgin Mobile festivals, and make a short run of northeast and Canadian headlining dates.
