What If R.E.M. Gives It Away...
and here is Hollow Man (MTV Live / Milan, March 18th, 2008)
Fat Freddy's Drop:
April 4th marks the release of the Rolling Stones/Martin Scorcese film, Shine A Light. As Spring approaches, let's remember that no band has seen as many rebirths as The Stones. This movie was filmed at NYC's Beacon Theatre in the Fall of 2006 and will surely capture the energy of this legendary band up close and personal. In this area, you can get your satisfaction at the IMAX at Henry Ford Museum in Detroit or in Ypsilanti.
Paper Bird:
How about a nice heaping helping of Spoon. They will be coming to the Detroit area on April 6th to play at the Emerald Theatre. This band had a huge year in 2007 and they aren't showing signs of slowing down. They haven't grown complacent...in fact, they are releasing Don't You Evah,a new EP this spring on Merge Records (April 8th). Their show at Emerald Theatre will also feature The Walkmen & White Rabbits...so stir it up!
The Duke Spirit:
After a few festival dates in April, Jack Johnson will head out on the road for a summer tour. He makes is way across the states touring on the strength of his fourth album, Sleep Through the Static, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts in February...might as well ride the wave. Simply soulful.

Sam Duckworth is the aggressive vocalist/guitarist that makes Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. a special band. His latest effort, Searching for the Hows And Whys is due out this week. His music is described as a blend of emo & indie with a healthy dose of social consciousness. He has experienced increased success in his U.K. homeland...let's hope he can log some time with that cape of his and make it over to the U.S. sooner than later.
